State Representative Camille Y. Lilly named Assistant Majority Leader for her second term.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Camille Y. Lilly (D-Chicago) remains steadfast in her commitment to investing in underserved communities by increasing access to affordable healthcare, delivering for working families, and reducing pollution in neighborhoods disproportionately impacted by climate change. Rep. Lilly has been named Assistant Majority Leader for the upcoming legislative session.
“This leadership role is one I do not take lightly because it allows me to provide people in our community with a seat at the table during critical conversations that shape their daily lives,” Lilly said. “It is an absolute honor to play a pivotal role in shaping policies that give our community hope in uncertain times.”
This marks Lilly’s second term as Assistant Majority Leader. She will collaborate closely with House Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch to advance the legislative agenda of the House Democrats. Her mission remains consistent: to prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable communities across Illinois. This includes ensuring all Illinoisans have access to housing, healthcare, education, food, transportation, and employment opportunities, empowering them to feel confident about their future.
“I am honored to stand alongside Speaker Welch in delivering for our entire state,” Lilly said. “Throughout my time representing the 78th District, I have focused on identifying and addressing the needs of my community, leveraging government action to fulfill those needs. While we have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done to ensure every Illinoisan is uplifted.”
