After a packed week of negotiations, the Illinois General Assembly concluded its 2025 Fall Veto Session in the early hours of October 31. Lawmakers reached agreements on a range of major issues that will impact Illinois families, workers, and communities.
Key measures include a $2 billion transit reform package establishing the new Northern Illinois Transit Authority, a Clean and Affordable Grid Reliability Act to expand renewable energy and lower utility bills by 2030, and a comprehensive revenue and tax package to support local economic development. Legislators also advanced reforms related to criminal record expungement, juvenile justice, behavioral health parity, and protections against federal immigration enforcement in hospitals and courthouses.
Rep. Lilly remains committed to ensuring these changes reflect the values and priorities of Illinois families. As these new policies take shape, her office will continue to share updates to keep residents informed and engaged.
